We have someone coming into Music School on 1st of October to PAT test all of Band Factory's electrical equipment. If you have anything electrical that you use at Band Factory e.g. amps, keyboards, PA heads (anything with a plug!) make sure you bring it along to get tested.
Bands & musicians influenced by any style of music are welcome and performance opportunities are offered throughout the year, including our Christmas In the City concerts, Noise From the Next Generation competition and culminating in our annual Collegestock event at the end of each academic year.
All Band Factory members need to understand and sign a contract detailing rules of conduct. Download here
For 2016/17 term dates please see the Music School Events page here
Our yearly competition showcases bands from the city as they compete for some great prizes such as performance opportunities, artist management and Nusic sessions amongst others, and this year was tied in with the Young Creative Awards, allowing all entries to be entered into the music category.
Congratulations to all our winners from this year's competition, we'll be back in 2017.
There are no restrictions, but the most common instruments in Band Factory are vocals, guitar (electric or acoustic), bass guitar, drums and keyboard.
We do not teach you how to play your instrument - you already need to be able to play a few chords / hold a steady beat. Our staff will guide rather than teach you in your rehearsals. We can help you learn cover songs or write your own music.
Yes! If you play the guitar, bass, or keyboard you will need to bring your own instrument, amp, leads, strings and plectrums. We have a limited number of PA's for singers, and a limited number of drum kits. Drummers must also bring their own sticks.
Visit the NMS Enrolment page for all the information you need on joining Nottingham Music School.
