The Great Orchestra Experiment (GOE) is our annual concert for Year 4 pupils, featuring the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra and exciting, interactive elements to involve all pupils in making music. This year’s event will take place at Nottingham Albert Hall on Tuesday 24 March.
Attendance is by invite only. Please download the invitation for more information.
Great Orchestra Experiment 2025
Nearly 1700 city pupils representing 38 Nottingham City Primary Schools participated in the Great Orchestra Experiment 2025. We had an incredible time and are so very proud of all our young people.
Thank You!
A massive thank you to the Backstage Trust for their grant towards GOE 2025, the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra for their amazing performance three times in the same day, the Albert Hall for their beautiful venue, and all the school staff and city pupils who attended the event. We also want to thank our opera singers Helena Payne & Kieran Rayner for making the event so much more dramatic and brilliant and Stage Connections for tech support.
“Genuinely so well organised with friendly staff. It was a fantastic opportunity and great to see their teachers either perform or support them, they became little celebrities. Thank you for such a unique and important chance to raise aspirations, use their learning and celebrate music!” – School staff member, GOE 2025
