We believe music is for everyone. To achieve our vision of no child excluded from the joys of making music with others, we aim to make our programmes and events as affordable as possible.
This can only happen with support from our amazing Nottingham Community. Read below to see how YOU can help make music make a difference.

Join our Monthly Giving Programme!
Did you know that we have our own Monthly Giving programme? Monthly giving is one of the most sustainable sources of revenue for charities. For a small sum – equal to the price of a CD or an album download – each month, you can help support hundreds of children to learn and play music. We are looking to sign up more monthly givers – if you or anyone you know is passionate about music making and Nottingham, please join our programme and become one of our Champions!
- Bronze: £5/month – Will help staff a small group ensemble like Guitar Lab for one week, helping young children improve their skills on the acoustic guitar
- Silver: £10/month – Will support the venue hire costs for three weekly rehearsals for our Robin Hood Youth Orchestra.
- Gold: £20/month – Will help two Nottingham City pupils attend the inspirational 2-day Music Camp at Ilam, Peak District
You can also choose your own amount to donate every month. If you have any trouble setting up your monthly donation, please give us a call at 0746 0734091 and we can help set it up for you.
- We also welcome one-off donations! Visit the link above to make safe, secure payments online and help hundreds of children experience the joy of making music with others.

Every time you shop, we receive a small donation to say ‘thank you’.
We want to raise as much as possible so please sign up and help us out by clicking here! You only have to sign up once and you’ll get automatic reminders when you’re shopping online to add on donations to NMS for FREE.
Legacies & In Memoriam
For anyone who would like to donate to our charity as part of their legacy, in their will or wish for people to make donations at their funeral, please get in touch with us. We can create a special ‘In Memory Of’ donation page on our website, where people can donate directly to show their love and express their condolences.
Your donations will help support music making in the city and enable more young people to benefit from the joys of music.

Thank you to the Arts Council England
We are grateful to the Arts Council England for supporting our music hub. With ACE support, we can continue to provide, and expand, our inspirational music education programmes in Nottingham City.
- See below for our other sources of funding.
Trusts & Foundations
We are incredibly grateful to Trusts and Foundations that have devoted their energies to supporting projects in the arts. It is because of their support that we can expand the reach of our programmes and make sure that every child in Nottingham has the opportunity to make music with others
A massive thank you to the Foyle Foundation for their grant towards our Music Camp 2025. We are also grateful to the Backstage Trust for supporting our Great Orchestra Experiment consecutively for the last three years.
Our two-year BBC Children in Need grant for the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra has just completed in July 2025. We are delighted with the impact this grant has had on the lives of young people, helping us inculcate a lifelong love for music in them.
We would also like to thank the BNA Charitable Foundation, D’ Oyly Carte Charitable Trust and the Forman Hardy Charitable Trust for their support of our projects over the years.
Corporate Giving
Support from local and international businesses in Nottingham is essential to our work in the city. Your organisation can join Capital One UK, A. W. Lymn Family Funeral Service and Browne Jacobson LLP in changing the lives of thousands of children through music.
You can support our work through financial donations as well as donations in-kind. We offer bespoke corporate sponsorship proposals that can help you achieve your CSR targets while creating a meaningful relationship with the city music education service.
"We get excellent provision and very good value for money from the Nottingham Music Service. The staff are of high calibre and provide us with expert support which embellishes our music curriculum. Additional opportunities such as music concerts and music camp really add to the quality experiences our children receive."Paul Worley, Sycamore Head Teacher
