Lead Schools for Music
We are so excited to announce that applications are now open for our 'Lead Schools for Music' opportunity!
In response to the National Plan for Music, the Department for Education, alongside Arts Council England, have asked all music hubs to appoint lead schools for music. Nottingham Music Service is therefore looking to broaden its work with educators by developing partnerships within City schools.
There is some fantastic music provision and teaching in schools across the City and we are keen to appoint schools demonstrating an exemplary commitment to musical teaching and learning. Working with Lead Schools will help further our mission to:
• help other schools in the area to make music teaching better
• look for new and better ways for teachers to support each other and work together
• help Hubs to understand what schools need and work better with them
We welcome and encourage applications from Primary, Secondary and Special schools within the Nottingham City boundary. The appointed schools will be co-deliverers with the local Music Service to support stronger links between schools and academy trusts, and broker opportunities for peer-to-peer learning in music education.
